About The Book

When Tracy Breland’s daughter was born with Down syndrome, Tracy’s world went dark. She was devastated and found herself in a whirlwind of negativity—hearing hundreds of things that probably would go wrong and everything her special child would do late or never do at all. The only thing worse than the present she faced was the future to come. She was numb.

Yet, Tracy soon learned with God’s help, she and her daughter were not bound to a life dictated by a diagnosis. What began as a seeming misfortune transformed into the treasure of a lifetime. Now the mother of five and teacher of special education shares her journey of the heart with parents everywhere.
